modern // barn door

For a while now, I've been considering of installing a barn door at the top of the stairs for my parent's. Their house was poorly designed and the stairs lead straight into the central part of the house ... the kitchen. Most of the noise occurs in the kitchen with the clinging & clanging of people cooking and voices of family members entertaining their guests.

What a better way to alleviate some of that noise then to add a sliding door at the top of the stairs?! I thought of using a barn door so the door itself wouldn't be too much of a nuisance while opened. My parent's home is a mixture of the modern and craftsman style. I thought a modern version of the barn door would be aesthetically fitting. Let's hope my parent's agree with the idea ;)

How has the blogging world been?! It sure has been a while! // My life has been quite hectic as you can imagine due to my lack of blogging since November :/ ... It has been really hard finding time to blog fun & inspiring designy things in between work, school, and play. However, I am determined to begin documenting my design loves once again! My posts won't be an everyday type of thing but  I would like to try blogging at least once a week or so.

Well, hello there blogging world!

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your friends & families!

It sure has been a while since I've had the chance to sit down and actually type out my thoughts. A lot has been going on ... good things of course! Work has been quite wonderful but extremely busy due to the holidays. I can't wait to post a pics of current remodels, photo shoots, and new construction. Again, this is once I get a little more time than 10 minutes to download a bazillion images haha. 

Thanksgiving was spent with my immediate family & the boyfriend's fam bamily :) You can only imagine that copious amounts of food were consumed. Two turkey dinners ... and a glorious nap before going to the movie, Life of Pi. Uhh mazing movie! A definite must see ... I tend to go on a movie watching craze when on vacay. I highly recommend going to see Wreck It Ralph & Lincoln. All I've got to say is WOW to Daniel Day-Lewis's performance in Lincoln ... 

Also, helped throw a surprise birthday party for the lovely Sharyll, (boyfriend's) mama. I won't say what age she turned because she might kill me... hahaha. Whispering ... ahem fifty ;) She is a wonderful woman and so glad to be apart of her life and ever so grateful for the son she raised :) // I'm totally cheese ballin' it I know.

AND of course I forget to snap pics while I'm "in the moment" ... grrr.

The only pic I've gotten of me & the babe is one at the Utes game last weekend haha.
